Hot on the heels of resounding success at the International Association of Golf Tour Operators awards, Portugal has further reason to celebrate its golfing heritage.
After the Lisbon area was recognised as the best Golf Destination in Europe by IAGTO the country went one better and was voted the Best Golf Destination in the WORLD at the World Golf Awards.
There was also further recognition for our relatively new local course Royal Obidos when it was voted the best in the country, beating off fierce competition from the well established Algarve's big hitters. Royal Obidos had already collected the award for best European Resort at the IAGTO awards.
This further recognition for the country and especially for the Silver Coast region is hugely satisfying for all involved and we have already seen a big increase in visitors for next year.
